- On 28th January, few Sai Youth and senior devotees went with blankets and distributed it amongst the residents of footpath on the main roads of Surat City in the night. Some people were sleeping where they simply put the blanket on them by saying "Sairam" only.
- On 29th January, youth started second phase of preparation of Sainet (medicated mosquito net). They prepared about 65 Sai Nets which were packed and ready to distribute.
- Swami was very happy to see new youth in Parthi yatra of Gujarat, Coming back from parthi, Sai Youth had a mission to increase the number of youth, some of the Sai youth had a meeting and decided to do youth motivational program in colleges, within some days. They got a call from their convener to do "SAI Workshop" in I.T.I. college, Majura gate. One of the teachers in the college was swami's devotee, he helped them to carry out the program.
- On 2nd February Sai Youth conducted Youth Motivation sessions at I.T.I. College. More than 100 participants attended the program. Two Sai youth brothers made visual representation within a short period of time, they interacted with these college students, let them know their purpose of life. These students, told us to do more such program in their college.

- On 14th February, Sai Youth organized Blood Donation camp at I.T.I. 72 bottles of blood were collected. Avtar Darshan program a video on Swami's life and mission was also shown there. Sai Youth interacted with students, motivated them to join them in service activities.
- On 9th March Sai Youth with youth brothers from I.T.I. college went to Ambica Niketan old age home. This was the first time Sai youth were in more than 25 nos. They cleaned all the rooms, distributed fruits to all inmates, interacted with them and had a Bhajan session. Inmates and Sai youth sang the glory of our Bhagwan. All were immensely happy and told us to include Bhajan in our next month program also. From there all the new youth brother were taken to Samithi Centre at Althan village to have a look at school and hospital. Sai had one interaction session there.

On every second Sunday of the month, Sai Youth visit Ambica Niketan Old Age Home. They start program with Omkaram. They visit every rooms of the old people, seek their permission to clean their room and interact with them. The Old people some time feels that they are with their family. Sai Youth also have Bhajan session with inmates. Elders feel very happy to hear the glory of God.
- Under SSVIP program, now Sai Youth concentrates on holistic health of children, so as per guidance of swami, one health card for children shall be prepared. On 27th January, Sai youth of Sachin and Surat samithi jointly organized one medical camp at adopted villages - Dhanmoli and Seljar. Total 151 patients were given treatment. Health cards were given to all 116 children of village, containing their height, weight, blood group and other medical details.20 Sai Youth from both the Samiti offered their Seva.

- On 17th February, to motivate youth of adopted villages and to make them aware of Swami and His work, Sai Youth organized one cricket match in Dhanmoli with an aim, that "Life Is Game Play It". Appx. 25 youth from Dhanmoli participated in the match. Sai Youth divided in to two teams. Both the teams were having village youth and Sai youth. Winning or loosing didn't matter. Their aim was to have a close relation with village youth brothers. After completing a match, District President interacted with these youths. They identified that some of the youth having passed their inter exam, doing nothing. They are interested to learn computer. Now Sai Youth are planning to get them admitted to near by I.T.I. College. Some of the village youth showed eagerness to visit Prashanthi Nilayam in June for Prashanti Seva.

- Sai Youth had a special program for children of adopted village. They arranged one animated film show on Lord Ganesh. Children had never in their life seen an animated film, so they were very happy to see such film. The blood grouping of 23 children's were also identified.
- On 2nd March, Along with new youth from I.T.I. College Sai Youth conducted Gram Seva. 20 youth and two teachers from I.T.I. college accompanied Sai Youth in Gram Seva. Some of these youth were from fashion designing faculty. They taught cutting and stitching of clothes to village women. They were very happy to learn the techniques. Blood grouping of rest another 22 children was done. In Balvikas session attendance was very good, so our youth decided to arrange competition among them. They played games with children. At last Sai Youth distributed prizes to all the participants.
- On 9th March, Sai Youth of Bardoli Samithi arranged one Medical camp at adopted village Dhanmoli, in which 150 patients were given treatment and medicines. 7 Sai youth brothers participated in it. They also played games with children in the village.
- Sai Youth regularly visits Surat Civil Hospital Children's Ward. They starts with prayer in which they pray Bhagwan to cure all patients. They interact with child Patients; distribute fruits and biscuits. They enquire about their diseases with their parents. In case any poor patient was found they also provide monetary help.
- On 5th April, 5 youth of Surat samithi started preparing SAINET, a project to eradicate mosquito related diseases. They prepared 300 SAINET. It shall be distributed in the villages.
- On 6th April, 10 Sai youth visited Old age home near Vesu village. 21 other youth of local I.T.I. College joined them, they all cleaned the rooms, also interacted with inmates.
- On 13th April, 6 Sai youth and Youths from I.T.I. visited adopted village Dhanmoli and Seljar for Gram Seva. They undertook Bal Vikas class and tailoring class. 11 village women actively participated in tailoring class.
- On 26th and 27th April "Sai Workshop" was conducted at Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Althan, Surat for ITI college students. Detailed report is enclosed.
- On 27th April, one blood donation camp was organized at Ghod dod road, 48 bottles of blood was collected.
- On 11th May, one blood donation camp was organized at Nand Niketan, Hazira, 33 bottles of blood collected. 13 youth actively participated in it.
- On 18th may, 14 youth went for Gam seva to adopted village Seljar and Dhanmoli village. Youth taught village kids about health and hygiene and practically showed them how to remain neat and clean. Thereafter they took Bal Vikas class. The other group of youth took tailoring class. Youth Convener and District President of Surat Samithi and one senior devotee questioned the villagers that "what you need?" One of the villager replied that "We are happy with your visit in the village." New clothes were distributed to all. Books of 1 to 5th standard were given to school going children. Youth started one library for children in the school of adopted village Seljar. In evening villagers and youth did Bhajans. One Muslim couple joined in this gram seva was very happy.

- On 4th May, Sai Youth visited adopted village Seljar and Dhanmoli for Gram seva. They organized one medical camp and gave medical treatment 50 patients.

- On 6th April, 8 Sai Youth of Bardoli samiti organized one blood donation camp at Nava falia, Valod village. 40 bottles of blood were collected.
- On 27th April, 15 youth organized one piles check up camp at Ramji Mandir, Bardoli. 78 patients were checked up and given medicines.

The session ended with 'Bhajans' which is followed by 'Bhojan'. The second session of the workshop is very interesting as being a session of Cultural Programmes. Two participants shared their views on topics namely 'Need of Human Values in Youth' and 'Learn to Forget'. One of the participants presented 'Ayaat' (Praise of Allah) from Holy Quran. Some of the participants sang religious prayers and devotional songs where as a group of Sai youth presented two Qwallis. |
On 27th April 2008, early morning session started with 21 Omkarm, Suprabhatam and Veda Chanting. A huge procession of participants was guided by Sai youth in the Nagarsankirtan which spread divine vibrations in the out skirts of the venue. All the participants felt the sanctity of 'Brahmamuhurt'. The next programme was very interactive as the programme of 'Yoga' was conducted by one of the Sai youth who is professionally engaged in the field. He demonstrated various "Asanas" which were followed by pranayams and dhyan. Participants felt the importance of the 'Yogabhyas' for maintaining the physical and mental health. After having refreshment and breakfast, participants were enlightened by having 'Jyoti Meditation' in low instrumental background music of nature.
The objectives of the programme are to focus their attention for the subsequent sessions, to enlighten them and to suppress the chaos of meaningless thoughts sprouting in the young minds. The successful attainment of objective was felt by all as the programme was conducted very beautifully by State Edu care co-ordinater. Next programme, having title 'Youth, Indian Culture and Purpose of Life', was conducted by one of the Sai youth with a very nice presentation. He explained that 'The act which benefits the society as well as self is called Sanskriti i.e. Culture' and the opposite of that can be termed as 'Vikruti' He also explained that Bharat is not limited to geographical location or physical boundaries but as Swami Says, It is the land where there is RATi (Attachment) to BHA (Bhagwan) i.e. Attachment to God and not towards worldly desires.

Bhartiya Sanskruti doesn't mean 'Hinduism' but it is a way of learning, loving and living. He also described the various aspects of Bhartiya culture like Mahavakyas of Vedic scriptures and its meaning, four Ashrams of life, four Purusharthas and its execution in each Ashram. Swami says that one should get "Artha" with "Dharma" and to have "Kama" (desire) of "Moksha". He reiterated the divine statement of Swami to unfold the purpose of life. The statement is, "Man is born to learn how not to be born again". In addition to the basic needs (air, water, food, shelter, cloth) of human for sustenance, he nicely explained the new needs namely Knowledge, Work, Seva, and Love by giving real life examples. In the next programme, one Sai youth and one of the participants presented their views on the topic 'We and our Role models'.
Two role models selected by both the participants were Mother Teresa and Swami Vivekananda respectively. The programme was very interactive as participants were very enthusiastic to describe the characteristics and virtues of their role model. In the next programme,District Youth Convener revealed the Spiritual aspect of Grama Seva. He described that how 'Grama Seva is Rama Seva'; three Hs (Head, Heart and Hand) can be united during Grama Seva and how one can feel the divinity present in all human beings. Under the title of 'Leadership', one of the Sai youth presented basic characteristics and types of leadership. He also related it with different type of tasks. He explained 'Leadership' by taking examples of various legends like Gandhiji, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Napoleon etc. An introductory programme on the topic of 'Ceiling of Desire' is conducted by one of the youth in which he explained the difference between need and desire, how
desire is transformed into need as advancement of mankind, how desires are satisfied by five Gyanendriyas and Karmendriyas i.e. senses and why one should put ceiling of desires. After explaining the importance of various resources, he gave an idea about how to reduce waste of food, energy, time and money. He concluded his topic by providing 'Die-Mind' state for ceiling on desire as explained by Swami. After the lunch, participants were engaged in Group Discussion on the topic of 'Youth and Social Transformation'.

A good number of points were contributed by all the four groups some of which are female child abortion, terrorism, invasion of foreign culture, corruption, illiteracy, poverty etc. The programme was well conducted by State Edu care co-ordinater. She summed up the Group discussion by giving a very nice presentation on the subject. She suggested that youth is the best time to start as Swami says, "Start early, go slowly and reach safely". She also explained the importance of five human values in the process of individual as well as social transformation. After that Assistant State Sevadal Co-ordinator of the organization expressed his views on the topic of 'Sai Organization'. He beautifully explained the discriminating characteristics of Sai organization compared to other organizations and NGOs. He also reiterated that Swami is personification of divine love and incarnation of God in 'Shiv Shakti' form. He concluded his speech by suggesting youth to grab this divine opportunity to experience God. In the concluding session, Shri Hasmukhbhai Parmar, a Sai devotee and Co-ordinator of ITI, shared his experience with Swami and appealed the youth to choose the right direction of life from the moment. In the open session, some of the participants voluntarily came forward and shared their feedback regarding workshop. As a plan of action, they fill up the 'Promise Note' containing various promises for their self development, participation in various activities of organization, ceiling of desires etc. They also filled up 'Feedback form' to provide their valuable feedback in writing. One photo exhibition on youth activities was also arranged by youths. All the participants were given a beautiful certificate. Total 88 students of ITI college participated in the program. |

A very big pie of the audience was new and young youth of local ITI who are studying in the Apparel Section of the institute. The programme started with the divine 'vedghosh' followed by 'Dip praktya'. After welcoming Honorable State President of Gujarat State and the audience, District President gave a very brief introduction of the organization and its activities. |
He showed the uniqueness of organization and its numerous activities carried out under the three main wings namely Spiritual, Educational and Seva. He stressed that the organization is not a religious one but Spiritual one and works on the principles like 'Love all, Serve all', 'Service to Man is Service to God'. |
