A- Sai Service Activities in Adopted Villages under SSSVIP

Gram Sabha for Mother & Child Care and other issues, Balvikas & Narayan Seva at Seljar & Dhanmoli under SSSVIP
On 10th January 2010, 25 Sai Youth visited Seljar village. Sai youth sisters prepared Talchikki & Mamra Ladu two days prior to visit. Two main objectives of the visit were decided
1) To initiate the Mother and Child Care project in the village and
2) To help the school by providing the gardening equipments for developing garden around it.

Sai Youth started around 9:00 a.m. with Aumkarm and during entire travel time Bhajans were sung. After reaching the village, at around 12:00, villagers were called in the school and discussion on Mother and Child Care project was initiated. To facilitate the discussion and to maintain the sensitivity of the objective of the project, senior ladies of the samiti also participated in the visit. On the other side Sai youth brothers started the Balvikas class for children and meeting of Gents villagers to discuss various issues like employment, health, education, water, agriculture and other relevant issues.

Around 30 children participated in the Balvikas class. They were told two stories and played two indoor games. As the occasion of Makarsankranti was scheduled, Talchikki and Mamra Ladu were distributed among all the villagers and children present there.

DISTRIBUTION OF GARDENING EQUIPMENTS


Mega Health Check Up Camp at adopted villages Seljar & Dhanmoli On 24th January a Mega Health Check up camp was organized at Seljar primary school. Two weeks prior to camp, information about the camp was spread amongst the villagers of Seljar, Dhanmoli and other near by villages. Shri Idaljibhai, school teacher at Seljar, who stays near by village offered his humble service and took the pain of travelling from villages to villages to inform everyone about the camp. He also printed pamphlets of the program and distributed to all villagers.

On 24th Jan '10 as per schedule camp was started at 10:00 o'clock with three Omkaram and lighting of sacred lamp. Dr.Upendra Mishra, a sai devotee, also serving in Sathya Sai Medical Centre of Sachin Samithi, offered his humble services in General Section. Eminent Gynecologist of Surat city Dr. Meena Desai and Dental surgeon of Vyara Dr.Ritiksha Chaudhary also offered their service. Total 242 patients from Seljar, Dhanmoli and other near by villages were given treatment.

BAL VIKAS CLASS


The Balvikas class was taken by Balvikas Guru along with assistant Sai Youth sister. Total 38 children of both the villages were present. Under Sri Sathya Sai National Narayan seva project, Sai Youth of Sachin samithi distributed 48 packets of rice (3kg) to the needy families of both villages.

Eye, Dental & Gneral Check Up Camp at Seljar & Dhanmoli On 14th February '10 during last visit it was noticed that people in this two villages are having eye problems. So an Eye check up camp was organized at Seljar Primary school. Dr.JIgishaben Chaudhary, a well-known ophthalmologist of Vyara city offered her services. She examined 41 patients out of which 5 cases of cataract were found. Three of them were operated at near by Medical centre. Along with Eye, General and Dental camp was also organized, Dr. Upendra Mishra and Dr. Keyur Saraiya examined 79 patients.

Balvikas class was also taken by Balvikas guru and her assistant. Total 47children of both the villages were present. Shloka and Bhajan of group 1 syllabus was taught to these children.


Health & Hygiene awareness & Blood Check up Camp at Seljar & Dhanmoli
On 28th February '10 a Health and Hygiene awareness camp for the children of Seljar village was organized. 48 children participated in this program. Initially Balvikas session was taken and then the importance of cleanliness was shared.48 kits containing Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste; Tongue Cleaner, Soap, Shampoo, Hair Oil, comb and Handkerchiefs were distributed. For elders a Blood Check up camp was also arranged with the help of Unicef team.

BLOOD CHECK UP

Blood check up also included examination of H.I.V, W.B.C. count, Sickle-cell, HBSAG (jaundice). Total 42 villagers were examined. For awakening spirituality amongst the villagers, Bhajan was also done.


Narayan Seva under Sri Sathya Sai Narayan Seva Program at Seljar & Dhanmoli
On 14th Mar '10, under Sri Sathya Sai National Narayanseva program,a Narayan seva was organized at Seljar school. Senior ladies Sevadal cooked prasadam, Sai Youth sisters helped them. Nearly, 100 villagers took prasadam. Food kits containing 5kg rice and 1.25kg Dal were given to 4 poor families. Balvikas class was under taken by Balvikas guru.

NATIONAL NARAYAN SEVA

Villagers were motivated to participate in coming Prashanti Seva in June '10. Nearly 10 villagers showed wilingness to attend the seva. Villagers are facing water shortage for agriculture purpose & for their cattle. Hence, Sai Youth brothers decided to construct a Check Dam to meet water requirement. A site for Check Dam was identified with the help of villagers.


Survey for Solar Power generation and construction of Check Dam at Seljar & Dhanmoli
On 22nd Mar '10 A team comprising Civil Contractor and South Zone Convener and representatives of Sujalaam Project Dept. visited Seljar village. They surveyed the site for proposed construction of a Wind cum Solar Power Generation. Proper survey of Check Dam was also done.


Meidcal Camp at Seljar & Dhanmoli
A General Medical camp was organized with the help of doctors from Sachin samithi. Total 61 patients were examined and were given necessary medicines. Bal Vikas class was also undertaken. Total 27 students participated. They were taught Shlokas and Bhajan of group 1 syllabus. Sai Youth sisters along with Senior ladies continued Mother and Child care program. They interacted with village ladies, discussed with them about the benefits of family planning operation.


Fresh adoption of a Vedchha village under SSSVIP
On 21st February '10 another village was adopted under Sri Sathya Sai Village integrated Programme. Sai Youth brothers and Senior members of the Samithi visited Vedcha village which is 12k.m. away from Surat city and carried out a proper survey as per SSSVIP guide lines.

STARTING OF BALVIKAS CLASS

Bal Vikas Guru undertook Balvikas session. 50 children participated in the session. Balvikas guru shared the importance of neatness and cleanliness and sung Bhajan. After completion of the session, children got happy and went their home murmuring the bhajans learned in the session. During Survey, Sai Youth noticed Swami's photo in one of the houses. The house was found in improper condition and without roof. One old man was living in the house. He told Sai Youth brothers that he got the photo of Swami from some one long back, since than he has kept it in his Puja room.


Gram Seva at adopted village Vedchha
On 21st march, 6 Sai Youth brothers went to Vedcha village. Bal Vikas class was undertaken and children were taught Bhajan and Omkaram from group 1 syllabus. 69 children participated in the session. All the children were distributed Glucose biscuits and chocolates. One of the children was found having cut in his hand, immediately he has been taken to nearest doctor for medical treatment. Under Sri Sathya Sai National Narayan Seva program, 2 kg rice and half kg Dal was given to one old man, who have no one to look after.

On 18th April '10, Sai youth and Senior members went to Vedcha village for Gram seva. 126 Packets of Rice (1kg) and Dal(500gms) Prepared by Sai youth two days before visit. All the 126 Packets were given to each and every family members of Vedcha village under Sri Sathya Sai National Narayanseva Program. Students of Sathya Sai School actively participated in this program.




National Narayan Seva at Vedchha Bal vikas session was undertaken by experienced Bal vikas Guru assisted by Sai youth sisters. Total 137 children present. All were taught about general health hygiene through stories and songs, which the children enjoyed a lot. Demonstration given to the children, how to brush teeth and take bath. 101 health kit comprising, 1 tooth paste, tooth brush, tongue cleaner, A handkerchief, soap, Shampoo, Hair oil, comb given to 101 children by District president of organization. Weights of all the children were noted down. Sathya sai school children chanted Veda at village. At last biscuits and chocolates were distributed among children.

Narayan Seva at Seljar
On 25th April '10, Sai Youth and senior members of Surat samiti visited Seljar village where youth cooked Prasdam to be served to all the villagers. 120 villagers took prasdam. Bal vikas session was undertaken.30 children from village attended it. Sai youth sisters discussed with the village women about their problems related to their health and child immunization.

On 9th May '10, Sai Youth, Students of Sathya Sai School and senior members of surat samiti visited Seljar village. Four packets of Amruta kalasham comprising rice, dal, oil, chili powder, turmeric powder, tea powder, mustard seed, coriander and cumin powder, salt and sugar were given to 4 poor families under Sri Sathya Sai National Narayanseva Program.

Bal vikas session was also undertaken by bal vikas guru and sai youh sisters.40 children were present. Sai Youth sisters, discussed with 8 village ladies about their problem related to their health and raising their children in mother and Child care program.

Visit to Old Age Home
On 2nd January '10, 20th February '10th & 13th March '10 Sai Youth visited Ambica Niketan old age home. As per the interest of the inmates they showed them the movie based on Bhagwan's life " Shirdi Sai Parhi Sai Divya Katha"

On 18th January '10, Sai Youth visited Ambica Niketan old age home to celebrate the birth day of one of the inmates. Swami's divine name was chanted through Bhajan. All inmates were very happy with the celebration. After Bhajan prasadam was distributed to 73 inmates.

On 10th April '10 Sai Youth sisters visited Ambica niketan Old age home. They arranged a video sow on swami's life for the inmates.

Shram Yagna -
On 3rd January '10, Sai Youth cleaned SSSSO Centre at Althan, Sathya Sai School Campus.

On 7th February, Sai youth clean Medical centre, Sathya Sai school campus. Every month first Sunday, youth cleaned Sathya sai medical centre, bhajan hall, Ambulance.


Narayan Seva
On 3rd January '10, a narayan seva has been organized for the children of Althan village. 300 children were served cooked prasadam. On 29th January '10, A Narayan seva was organized at New city light road. About 150 poor labors were given cooked Sai Prasadam.

On 19th February, A Narayan seva was organized at New city light road, About 200 poor labors were given cooked prasadam. 3 youth boys offered their seva.

On 26th March '10, A Narayan seva was organized at New city light road, About 200 poor labors were given cooked prasadam.2youth boys and 4 youth girls offered their seva.


Blanket Distribution
On 16th January '10, 22 blankets were distributed to the poor people living on foot path near Amidhara Wadi of Adajan area of Surat city.

Hospital Visit
On 31st January '10, Sai Youth and Senior members of samiti visited new civil hospital. After taking permission from the hospital authority they entered in to the children's ward. With three Omkaram and a prayer to swami for the better health of child patients, glucose biscuits were distributed to 72 child patient. Similarly On 21st March '10, Sai youth and senior members of samiti visited new civil hospital. Prayer for 57 child patients was done.


Medical Camp at Umarada
On 23rd May, Sai youth and senior member of samiti visited Umarda village, which is near to seljar with an invitation from the villagers to conduct a medical camp. Dr. Upendra Mishra from sachin samiti checked 134 patients .Youth from sachin samiti also participated. Balvikas class was taken in village school by district Bal vikas convener.45 children were present.


Blood Donation Camp
A blood donation camp was organized at Radha Krishna Mandir, Maharana Pratap nagar, Godadra.28 units of blood was collected. Doctors from surat raktadan Kendra offered their service.


BARDOLI SAMITI
Eye Check Camp
On 28th February '10, An Eye check up camp was arranged at Ninad village. Total 381 patients were registered. Out of which 250 patients were given spectacles. Doctors from Rotary Eye hospital checked the patients.130 cataract cases were found. Date of their operation was given to them.


Blood Donation Camp
On 28th February '10, a blood donation camp was organized at Ninad village along with eye camp.44 units of blood were collected. Another blood camp was organized on 30th March '10 at Sarvan village.61 units of blood were collected.


Hospital Visit & Narayan Seva
Every Sunday, Sai Youth of Bardoli along with seniors visits Sardar Hospital and distributes biscuits and fruits to the patients. Cooked prasadam was distributed to the Narayans of Ramji mandir slum area on every Sunday.


Visit to Old Age Home
On 10th January '10, Sai Youth and Senior members visited Old age home. They did Bhajan with the inmates. Prasadam was also distributed to all.


VYARA SAMITI
"Samuh Lagnotsav" (Mass Marriage Ceremony)
On 10th February 10, Vyara samiti organized a "Samuh Lagnotsava" - a mass marriage ceremony for poor bride and grooms in the community hall of K.A.P.S. township. 32 Hindu couples and 3 Christian couple's marriage were performed with their respective customs. Starting from Mangal sutra to all the other house hold items was given to the newly wedded couple. Narayanseva was done wherein nearly five thousand people had Sai Prasadam. After marriage a procession with Bhagwan's chariot was moved around the city along with the newly couples.


Hospital Visit & Narayan Seva
Sai Youth on 9th, 18th and 27th of every month visits Janak hospital, Referral Hospital and Kalidas hospital, distributes fruits, biscuits and milk to all the patients. They also offer Tiffin service and monetary help to needy patients.

On every month 10th, 19th and 28th Sai Youth sisters cooked Sai Prasadam and Narayans of Dadri Faliya slum area and also the villagers of Vorakhadi.


Celebration of Makarsankranti
On 14th January '10, Sai Youth samiti distributed Kites to the school children of Vorakhadi and Rampura. Nearly 120 kites were distributed.

Sai Youth s regularly running Homeopathy Medical centre on every Sunday and giving free medicines to needy patients.
