  1. Adoption Of Chennai Cancer Institute by Sai Youth :
    The Sai youth of Chennai Metro (South) district, Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, Tamil Nadu, have adopted for seva, Chennai Cancer Institute located at Adyar, Chennai. The Institute is world renowned and patients from many countries come to the Institute for Cancer treatment. Seva at the Institute by Sai Youth Comprise of the following activities ;-
    • Reception and registration of out patients
    • Conducting of out patients to the respective departments
    • Filling up of patients recods in the proforma provided
    • Collecting of test reports
    • Counseling and exchanging of words of encouragement with patients

    Some of the patients who hail from rural areas are illiterates for whom our Youth Volunteers write their personal letters when requested for. Twice a week Sai Youth volunteers organize Sri Sathya Sai Bhajans wherein not only the patients but also the staff members of the Institute also enthusiastically take part with utmost Devotion and Dedication. Sai Prasadam and a photo of our Beloved Bhagavan is distributed at the conclusion of Bhajan sessions.

    Recently our Sai Youth have donated a World Space Radio Receiver, dedicated for Radio Sai Channel, which has been installed in the patient's main dormitory and is activated for twelve hours in a day all Radio Sai Programmes . The find are happy and feel they derive mental solace and comfort listening to Bhagavan's Divine Discourses and soul filling Sri Sathya Sai Bhajans so melodiously rendered and express that this gives them mental and physical strength to with stand their physical agony.

    The Staff and patients at the Cancer Institute are so much overwhelmed by this gesture of our Sai Youth, the repeatedly convey their deepfelt gratitude and humble pranams at Lotus Feet of our Beloved Bhagavan.




  1. Community Seva organized by Sai Youth of Chennai Metro District :-
    With the Divine Grace of our Beloved Bhagavan Sai Youth of Chennai Metro were blessed with an opportunity to perform Community Seva to their Muslim Brothers at Mukka Masjid in Chennai on the Holy occasion of Ramzan festival. Janab Sri Moulana Shamsudeen Quasim, the Chief Imam of the Mosque graciously gave his ready concurrence to our youth members when they approached him with their desire to perform Community Seva in the Mosque along with

    their Muslim brothers. The seva comprised of cleaning the entire Mosque, which is normally done by the muslim brothers, for which an exception was made as a goodwill gesture towards the youth of our organization, and getting it ready for the final prayers at end their month long Ramzan Fast. The spotless cleaning of the Mosque premises both inside and its surroundings were much appreciated by the Imam as well other muslim members of the community.

    On the 14th of October the " Id ul fitr " prayers commenced at 7a.m. at the mosque. Members of Sai Youth Wing had elaborate arrangements at various vantage points, in consultation with Imam, for distribution of Sweet Sherbet " Roohafsa" to their muslim brothers at the conclusion of their ID prayers.

    About 2500 muslim brothers took part in the prayers which concluded at 8 a.m. Thereafter all of them were treated to their customary sweet drink on breaking their Ramzan Fast, prepared and served by Sai Youth with the Greetings of " ID MUBARAK ". The customary embracing of each other on such occasion as per muslim traditions was observed with joy and enthusiasm. Banners with Sarva madha Symbol of our Organisation and Greetings of " ID MUBARAK " were displayed at vantage points.

    At the conclusion of the festivities the Imam and other members of the management committee of the Mosque invited our Sai members inside the Mosque prayer hall . Sri N. Ramani, State President, Sri M Bhoopal and Dr. Vijay Kumar, members of the Council of Management of
    Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Tamil Nadu graced the occasion with their presence and took part in the prayers along with the muslim brothers, Sri. Bhoopal in his speech thanked the Imam for his gracious loving gesture and highlighted our Beloved Bhagavan's Exposition of LOVE ALL AND SERVE ALL " and His Mission of humanitarian programmes irrespective religion, caste or creed. All were treated to delicious Dates specially brought from Iran for the auspicious occasion.


  2. Grama Seva - Sai Youth of Kancheepuram District :-
    With the divine grace of Bhagawan, the Grama Seva activity in Chellampattidai and surrounding villages of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Vellore District are being carried by every week by the Youth of Kancheepuram. As a part of this seva activities, 16,660 notebooks and 1450 Lifco dictionaries comprising of English-English-Tamil were distributed to the rural students in the villages on 1st July 2007. The distribution was carried out simultaneously in 10 centers by forming 10 groups of youths and 1 leader for each group. The BDO and Asst. District Educational Officer for elementary schools of district were also present at the distribution. A total of 3,266 students studying in 31 schools drawn from 50 villages in the kancheepuram district were benefited. The notebooks were designed in such a way that they carried the portrait of our beloved Bhagawan on the outer cover on both side. The LIFCO

    Dictionaries issued to the students were specially bound with beloved bhagawans messages on Human Values and with an introduction on Sri Sathya Sai Organisations and its activities in TamilNadu.

    The youth wing of Kacheepuram District were installed with the provision for purified drinking water system in 4 villages namely, Chellampattidai, O.M.Manglam, Sivapuram and Illambiyan Kattur and in two rural schools - RCM Middle School at Chellampattidai and Don Bosco Residental School in Sahayathottam as the I Phase of their seva activities in these villages. The population of the area currently covered exceeds 5500 rural villagers and 620 students studying in this school.


  3. Vedic Krishi (Organic Farming) :-
    In Collaboration with the TamilNadu Agriculture University, the Sai Youth of Nilgiri District, for the past one year has taken efforts to facilitate careful adoption of Organic farming by the farmers in the adopted villages in the district.

    The approach adoption in promotion of Organic farming is farmer centred and the program will create conditions for the conservation and efficient use of locally available resources. In this direction the following issues are addressed to the farmers.
    • Promoting Organic agriculture as a sustainable, safe and healthy method of increasing production with special price advantage.
    • Resolving often extreme distress in rural farming communities resulting from high input cost, low returns, increase in debts ec.
    • Reliance and locally available, affordable and environmental friendly inputs
    • Increased self reliance through inclusion of local seeds, manures and indigenous practices for plant protection.
    • Encouraging mixed farming aimed at household food security while conserving biodiversity and local cultural values.
    • preparing farmers for competitive marketing through quality, speciality products and processing.
    • Creating consumer awareness on respectful natural farming on safe food.
    Organic farming is a silent revolution in the making and will boost farmers out put many times with minimal financial inputs.


  4. District Youth Conference :-
    All the Twenty Five districts in the state held their youth conferences during the month of June. A total of 3256 youths attended these conferences in various districts and their response for participating in Sai Youth activities was encouraging. These conferences were held to galvanise the strength of Sai Youth and

    channalize the youth activities in the state after their encouraging response during the Athi Rudra Maha Yagnam held in Chennai. These conferences were a prelude to " SAI YOUTH PILGRIMAGE "to Prasanthi Nilayam during the period 19th to 23rd August.


  5. Temple Seva by Sai Youth Of Nigiris :
    14th of April at Annamalai Temple , Kundha Village ( Nilgiris District ). In this Temple Seva, Sai youth performed the sacred duties of crowd control, maintaining discipline, food distribution and claning. Butter Milk pandhals were set up by youth to facilitate smooth distribution to the devotees.


  6. Grama Seva by Sai Youth of Chennai Metro (West District)
    Sai Youth of Chennai Metro (West District) have adopted the villages of Karunakarancherry, Mettuulathur, Irumbedu and Vengadu near Sriperumbadur. Every Sunday 20 to 30 youth members visit each and every house in these villages to maintain personal contacts and ensure their personal needs like Drinking Water, Toilet fecilities, Education for children are attended to and solved by liaison with concerned Block Development Authorities. The Village Heads from these villages were taken on a Divine Pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam on the auspicious occasion of Tamil New Year's Day 14th of April for Divine Darshan. The District has adopted these villages as a part of their Sri Sathya Sai VIP Programme.



  7. Hospital Seva By Sai Youth of Chennai Metro (West District)
    Youth wing members of Chennai Metro (West District) have been regularly rendering Hospital seva at K.K. Nagar Govt. Peripheral Hospital. The seva extended in forming up queue of the out patients, preparation of O.P. Slips, regulating and conducting patients to the respective wards for BP Check up, Diabetic check up and the like. Sai youth also perform crowd control seva at Sankara Nethralaya at Nungambakkam , for six days in a week.


  8. Construction of Low Cost Toilets :
    The Sai Youth of Kancheepuram District and Ciombatore Districts have constructed Low cost Toilet facilities in their Districts for economically weaker section. In Kancheepuam district , the Sai youth constructed two cost Toilets at " Bhavishya Deepam", a home for mentally challenged, for the benefit of the inmates. At ciombatore district the Sai youth from within their resources constructed five low cost modern toilet fecilities in the houses of economically weaker section people in their adopted villages as a part of Sri Sathya Sai VIP programme.


  9. Provision Of Anti Mosquito Sprayers
    Sai Youth of Kancheepuram district donated Two Anto- Mosquito Sprayers to " Bhavishya Deepam " , a home for mentally challenged. Spraying will be done by our Youth members once a week.
