What is meant by Service

You can please Sai only be performing your duties to the fullest,serving society whenever and wherever you get the Opportunity. Service is not limited to serving individuals;any action that benefits the country is Service. For serving, you need not have anyone's shelter, protection, or advice. It is immaterial whether you are serving the poor or the rich. You should be able to serve anyone, at any place,at any time, and under any circumstances. Whenever you feel the need - Serve !

Miseries,sorrows, and pain are the same for everyone. That is why you should serve anyone in need,without hesitation. In villages,people are living under highly unacceptable conditions. Many (well wishing individuals) are visiting villages (and inner cities), cleaning the dirty areas, and returning home. But how long can you do that ? Why are you doing this cleaning? would it not be better to help the villagers understand the importance of cleanliness? If their surroundings are not clean, it affects their health and the health of their children. You should teach these people to do these things for themselves. That is Service.

A life not spent in service is a life of darkness. Understand that society is the source of whatever pleasure you derive and whatever pleasure you achieve in life. Society and nature are the fountains of your joy, wealth, and enlightenment, and they deserve your service.
