Spiritual Activities

Different awareness activities of the organization and Sai Bhajan learning programmes were held in different villages listed as under for the period under report :

  1. Bhatyari village : Fortnightly bhajan mandlies and Sathya Sai Bhajan classes were held in the village.
  2. Mishriwala village : In September 2007, a Bhajan programme on large scale was held to make people of different casts including lower casts people aware about the Sathya Sai Mission of "Serva Dharma" and Spirituality bliss obtained by chanting and singing of Sai Bhajans. About 250 to 300 people participated in the programme held by the organization.
  3. Villages plassarichek, Floura hermakund, Goumanahsa, Golmela Udhampur district, Gadyla - Jammu. In all these villages, gathering of about 200 to 300 people participated in Bhajan learning classes, knowing of rules and regulations including discipline to be maintained in organizing the Sai Bhajans.
Holding of Nagar Sanskirtan programmes : Nagar Sanskirtan programmes are being carried out on daily basis at following places :
  1. R.S. Pura, Jammu - From July 2007 to Nov. 2007 on daily basis.

  2. Floura hermakund - From Navratras Festival days Nagar Sanskirtan is being carried out daily through different streets of village in which more than 100 people of different casts including schedule casts are participating with great dedication and Zeal. The village is situated near Indo-Pak border and people of the adjoining villages have appreciated such programmes and are also participating in such programmes.

  3. Veda Chanting classes : Started from July 2007 and are going on continuously at different places in and around Jammu district. The classes are being held at AG's Complex, Sai Dham, and at Gandhi Nagar. In each class 30 participants are receiving the training of Veda chanting in proper pronunciation and manner.

  4. Celebration of Avtarhood day : Avtarhood day of bhagwan Sh. Sathya Sai Baba on 20th Oct at R.S. Pura as usual as is being held every year. The day started with taking out of Nagar Sanskirtan procession through different streets of Jammu and afterwards a Sai Rath Yatra was taken out from Satwari Chowk Jammu towards R.S. Pura for about 15 Kilometers long way. The Rath was decorated with Bhagwans photographs and chanting of Sai Bhajans. This was followed by a fleet of vehicles numbering 40 in which devotees were sitting. Enroute the way the people were showering flowers on the Rath. At R.S. Pura, the Rath was taken through different streets with large no. of people numbering one thousand following the Rath and singing of Sai Bhajans both by ladies and gents. Finally the Rath Yatra was terminated at Sai Centre R.S. Pura wherein different speakers spoke about the occasion and different service activities to be taken by the organization in border village of R.S. Pura under village improvement programme.
Service Activities
  1. Holding of Medical / Veterinary Camps - On 23rd of September 2007 a medical camp was held at village Batyari. In this camp services of skin specialist, Gynecologist, Eye specialist and Physician Specialists were utilized for treating about four hundred five cases free of cast. The medicines were also distributed free of cast as advised by the specialists. In this camp people of about 8-9 adjoining villages participated and were feeling happy by receiving the treatment and necessary medicine free of cast to four hundred people.
    In same village a veterinary camp was also established by the veterinarians who treated about 126 animals in addition to dosing and vaccinations effected to the animals free of cost.

  2. Veterinary Camp at Foura Harmukund on 28th Oct. 2007 another Veterinary Camp was held at Foura Harmukund in which about 210 animals were dosed and vaccinated against contagious diseases.

  3. Another Veterinary camp was held in village Dhatriyal near March. In this camp about 70 cows were given dosing against intestinal worms and necessary medicinal treatment were given free of cast.

  4. A Special Veterinary Camp was held on 4.11.2007 at Ambphalla Jammu wherein two hundred Cows were vaccinated against foot and mouth disease. In addition the Cows were dosed with different medicines for better production and reproduction. These Cows are being looked after by Jammu and Kashmir Raksha Samiti who supervised the Veterinary Camp organized by Shri Sathya Sai Organisation. The Samiti had great appreciation for the Organisation who are rendering such type of services free of cast for the upkeep of Veterinary health covers to these animals free of cast.
Honours day celebration :

Honours day celebration was held on 14.10.2007 at Shiv Mandir Complex hall Nanak Nagar Jammu. On this day old Sai devotees above the age of 70 years both male and female and medical and Veterinary doctors who worked selflessly by providing medical and Veterinary health cover in different camps held by the organization from time to time were ho noured with momento of Bhagwan Sathya Sai Baba, gents Kurta Pajama, Ladies Kurta Pajama ahd with wrist watches. The old people who had worked for the organiusation as well as performed seva with state sewa dal at Prashanti felt morally encouraged by receiving such honour on this day. They even presented themselves again for the services as and when required by the organization for the betterment of mankind. This was a day to be remembered by them for life long by way they were seated in the hall and subsequently honoured. In all 31 old devotees and 11 doctors were honoured on this occasion. The doctors vowed to give their best services to the organization as and where the need arises. They were all given a little time for their short speech and interaction with the devotees present in the hall.

Distribution of Sweators and woolen garments on Diwali Festival:
On this day the Organisation distributed sweaters and woolen garments to Kargil war orphan Children residing at Apna Ghar Trikuta Nagar Extension Jammu. About 30 children which are living in this orphanage belong to Muslim, Hindu and Budhist Communities. The Organisation trough Bal Vikas Gurus have given them the training with regard to chanting of veda mantras, Bhajans, Sholokas and other activities of the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation. These children who are in the age group of 2 years to 14 years are being looked after time and again by way of rendering helping hand to them in different fields of life including eduction.



Narayan Seva :
Narayan Seva is being performed at various places as detailed below
  1. Udhampur, Jammu - Narayan Seva by way of distribution of food packages and other necessary clothing is being conducted to about 50 people who are below the poverty line and most deserving with no means of livelihood. This seva is being performed fortnightly twice in a month.

  2. R.S. Pura : Narayan Seva is being performed on every Sunday to about 500 deserving people in different villages of border area by way of food grains, clothing, utensils, books, notebooks and with other necessities of life.

  3. Talab Tillo Samithi -
    • On every Tuesday One hundred twenty five poor children of various slum areas are being served with food, clothing and necessary items required by them for day to day living.
    • In addition to above on same day 200 people are being served with free food at Chenab factory, Bari Brahmana.
    • Under village - programme (V.I.P) the sai youth of the area have taken village Floura harmakund as an adopted village for rendering different kinds of services for the upliftment of poor and needy people of the said village. In this programme Amrit Kalasha which consists of Rice 5 Kg's Atta 5 Kg's, Oil 2 Ltr. Sugar 11/2 Kg. Salt 1 pkt. And One cake of detergent is being distributed to six adopted families on weekly basis who are falling below poverty line and have no means of living. The people of the village have appreciated this sought of service being rendered by the organization to these needy people who otherwise would have been starved to death.

  4. Marriage of poor girls : The following marriages poor girls who could not afford the marriage under the present circumstances were carried out by the organization by way of cash, serving of food, ornaments, clothings and other items required for marriage purpose.
    • At Rehal Kalandarian village on 21.8.2007 marriage of one girl namely Sulekha daughter of Som Nath Sharma who are extremely poor and could not afford the marriage of his daughter, the organization took the challenge and performed the marriage of the girl in all respects as stated above. In this marriage about 80 barratis and 120 locals were served with delicious food. The expenditure in all respects viz dowry, clothing, gold ornaments and other desired materials were performed by the organization.
    • On 24th September 2007 another marriage of poor girl namely Santosh D/o Seva Ram a Schedule cast and a very poor fellow were taken in hand by the organization with all respects as stated above. In the addition about 250- people were served with delicious food during the marriage ceremony.
      In adopted villages like Flour Harmakund, Galwade, Halqa Tokarian Sai Youth of the organization are visiting to these villages twice a week for taking up different service activities both spiritual and seva works under village improvement programme which stand appreciated by the other organizations working in that village in particular.

  5. Provision of living shelter to poor - Living shelter to most poor and deserving were provided by the organization by way of Cement, Concrete, lanters on their roofs which were roofless in addition to building of pacca walls around their house. The details are as under :
    • Village -Galadae-Shanti Devi- who was living without roof for years together.
    • Patta Bohri - Rattan Lal- Roof lanter was provided to his house and collapsed walls were also repaired.
    • Colonols Colony - Swoorop Ram - Roof lanter was provided in addition to building of walls.
    • Flour Hermakund - Gashita Ram - Lanter of the roof and building of walls was provided by the organization.
