The work done programe undertaken by sri sathya sai seva organization during the period from Jan 2008 to ending June 2008 |
| A. Seva Service Activities |
During the period under report the following service activities were undertaken by the organization. |
- Holding of veterinary / Medical camps
Holding of veterinary camps and awareness conferences were felt necessary by the organization in places where there is lack of veterinary aid to different kinds of animals and poor live stock owners/formers remain ignorant with various prophylactic measures to be undertaken by them for rearing of their cattle for their economic upliftment. The rearing of live stock forms the back bone of over rural population who earn their livelihood through various live stock products derived from their animals.
Accordingly a survey was conducted by the organization through young educated volunteers to identify various villages where such facilities are non existent and thus people living in such areas which fall under B P L category and who cannot afford to provide minimum needs to there animal by getting them vaccinated and closed against various scheduled diseases and parasitic prophylactic measures well in advance in a proper calendar schedule with definite follow-up program can lead to break down of general animal health, their production capacity by way of production of milk and milk products, production of wool, lack of giving birth to their youngones, low ploughing capacity in agriculture fields, transportation capacity etc will be reduce to minimum and will not be able to provide economic benefits to the poor breeders to improve their livelihood. Even some diseases are of great economic importance and if any out break of such diseases can wipe out the entire live stock population like wild fire. There are also some diseases in animals which are of zoonotic importance and can be transferred from animals to mankind and viceversa. As such if not properly cared through prophylactic measures well in advance can also be disastrous for both animals as well as for human beings.
On this pretexit such ignorant pockets were identified and various detailed awareness camps were held by thy qualified veterinanas of the organization to make the breeders aware about such diseases occurances, their cause, course and control through prophylactic measures
- Dosings and vaccination
- Management of animals on scientific basis
- Capacity out of their reared animals
- Feeding of animals on scientific basis as per required nutrients at different stages of life's
- Timely maturity of young animals and their successful conception.

- Care of new born calves and avoiding of calf mortality

The above technical awareness programes were discussed and practically got implemented in such conference camps which were attended by all villagers who appreciated such awareness for there benefits and directly related to there economic earnings. The villagers showed there keenness by way of putting various question to experts who replied to their entire satisfaction. They also appreciated such effective programe of organisation at their door steps which they have never seen so far in their life in their respective areas. They also showed their positive attitude to know about "Bhagwan Baba", His teachings,His mission of peace and brotherhood etc etc. They also wished to have "Darshan" of Bhagwan at puttapurthy in near future which will be arranged by the organistion.
At the end after finishing the onspot vaccinations and dosings of animals under proper ethics for all kinds of animals the breeders where made aware about the kind of medicine used, its usefulness, effectiveness and next followup doses to be taken up in that particular village were also discussed in such camps to their entire satisfaction.
