Submission of Report of Youth Activities from 1st November, 2007 to 30th June, 2008 from the state of Himachal Pradesh.

With the Divine Grace of Bhagavan Baba, the report of activities undertaken by the youth of Himachal Pradesh is submitted as below:

1. The Global Akhand Bhajan:

With the Divine Grace of Bhagavan Baba, 24 hours Global Akhand Bhajan was organized throughout the state on 9th and 10th November, 2007. Dedicated devotees from all over the state did organize the Akhand Bhajan with all zeal and enthusiasm at the Samithi level in their respective places. The devotees from the villages around each Samithi participated with full thrill and devotion. They left with faith and feeling the Grace of Bhagavan Baba all the time with them

2. Birthday Celebrations:

To write down the memories of the 82nd Birthday of Bhagavan Baba in our hearts and to keep the history awake, the week long Birthday celebrations were well planned and executed with love and devotion. The activities pertained to the different wings of the Sai Organization, were designed to undertake on the same day and date from 18th Novembert to 25th November, 2007. The purpose was to bring harmony and peace at all levels of the society. A brief description of those activities is as follows:

Akhand Jyoti
In each and every house of the devotee, the Akhand Jyoti was lit on 18th November, at 5.00 A.M. and it continued glowing till 25th November, 2007. Its luster and brightness still shines in the heart of all.

Mahilla Divas was celebrated on 19th November, throughout state making aware the women of the land about their inherited purity, patience and their responsibility to carry it further through the innumerable generation, so as to keep the Indian Culture alive. Women are the custodian of the Indian heritage and to protect it, is their fundamental obligation and duty. In all the Samithis of state women speakers stressed the need to bring forthwith the ideals of the Indian womanhood. During the day, they visited the Hospitals, Anath Ashrams and the blind, deaf and dumb homes.

Paalki Procession: with the Divine Grace of Bhagavan Baba, the Paalki procession was taken throughout the state during the day time by all the Samithis on 20th November, 2007. People from different walks of life participated in it. The local deities that are worshipped in the different villages also participated in the Paalki procession in places like Rampur, Mandi, and Kullu. Everywhere, the people thronged along the roads, the kucha and the pucca by lanes, to greet the procession and bow in reverence at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagavan Baba. At all places, reverence was shown by offering flowers with tears trickling down their eyes for the love 0f Swami.

The 21st November the Bal Vikas children presented the Cultural programs on value education. The action and the dialogue spoken touched the heart of the audience and made them think and contemplate that the transformation within is the only solution to all the problems of the individual and the nation. The activities like Rangoli Competitions, Debates and Declamation Contests were held as per the preparation by the different Samithis. Bhajan sessions and Nagar Sankirtans were organized for the BAL Vikas children throughout the state on this day as well.

Declamation contests and debates were organized for the college students on 22nd November, throughout the state. Parents of the participants equally participated in all the functions during the eight day long Birthday Celebration Program.

It was the day of 23rd November that was awaited the whole year with patience and perseverance. The morning hours began with Suprabhatam and the Nagar Sankirtan. It was followed by Narayan Seva and the evening glittered with Bhajans and lighting the illumination and all enjoyed the play of the crackers and the fireworks.

Similarly medical and veterinary camps were organized in the village complexes all over the state on 24th.and 25th November, 2007.

Thus the eight functions culminated with the feeling that perhaps we were imaging a dream. And for days, weeks, months and all moments, the devotees were in the state of bliss even when the functions were over. We pray! May we ever be in that state of ecstasy!

3. Christmas day Celebrations:

Christmas day celebrations were held at most of the places of Himachal Pradesh. But, however, the Samithi of Dharamshala takes deal in its celebration by undertaking the special medical activities. On that, it served the food to all the patients and staff of the Regional Hospital, Dharamshala. It also looked to all the needs of the patients and provided them with all daily necessities along with the medicines prescribed by the doctors.

4. Free Coaching Classes:

Undertaking the free coaching classes had become a regular feature in some of Sai centers of Himachal Pradesh. The young teachers teach the school children with all love and might. These classes are undertaken from the Month of December to the mid of March every year. Nahan Samithi, however, arranges special classes for the needy children of the colleges in the subject of English. The students always show deep sense of gratitude to Bhagavan Baba for rendering them the help at the appropriate time. These classes had been held at Nahan, Hamirpur, Kangoo, and Pragpur. We pray! May these free coaching classes spread from place to place for needy and the disadvantaged people!

5. Display of Exhibition:

The most effective approach to reach the youth and mankind in general is living depiction of activities undertaken by Bhagavan Baba Himself for the elevation and the betterment of the mankind and the Divine example followed by the different units of SAI Organization all over the country.

Therefore the youth of Himachal Pradesh has prepared with full strength, wit and vigor two beautiful exhibition to be displayed on different occasions in the different parts of Himachal Pradesh. 14 such exhibition was displayed in the period under report. The venues of the exhibitions were from the Primary School to the different Colleges and the public places within the state of Himachal Pradesh.

On 6th Fegruary, 2008, the Exhibition on the life and message of Bhagavan was held in Primary School at Una. The school children and the people around came to see it. They all went back with contentment and satisfaction after gathering and understanding the message of Bhagavan Baba.

Such display of exhibition was made at Mandi 06.03.08 during the week long Shivaratri festival. On 17.04.08 it was again displayed at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Una on 17.04.08.

In Kangra district, it was displayed on 15.11.08; 16.11.08; 17.11.8; and 18.11.08 in the respective degree colleges of Dharamshala, Dehri, Palampur and Govt. College, Baijnath. Similarly, it was organized in districts of Himachal Pradesh in Public places, such as Sujanpur Tihra, Solan, where several thousand people have thronged to witness the living reality.

6. Shivaratri Festival Celebrations:

The festival of Shivaratri was celebrated throughout the state having Akhand Bhajan during night. Narayana Seva was organized at the places throughout the state during the day time. Several thousand people relished the Divine Prasadam and felt blessed by taking it.

7. Visit to Jails:

The young members of Sai Organization continued their visit to the Jails at Shimla, Nahan and Una once a month. They have Sai Bhajans with the inmates. The lectures on the life and message of Bhagavan Baba were delivered. The films on Bhagavan Baba were also screened to give thrill and joy to prisoners. They felt blessed by having the Darshan of Bhagavan Baba and pray for their better perspective.

8. Distribution of warm clothing:

The Samithis of Shimla, Nahan, Solan, Dharamshala and Ghumarvi distributed warm clothing’s to needy people on different occasion in the period under report.

Shimla and Solan Samithis distributed blankets to the lepers and winter dress to children of the laborers in the month of January, whereas the same service activity was undertaken by the Samithis of Nahan and Solan.

9. Training Program for Farmers:

The training for farmers was organized in a tribal village at Sataun on 27th April, 2008. It was the integrated program to bring awareness among the farmers about the new techniques and methodology in agriculture and horticulture. They were also intimated about financial help they can get from the banks. 230 farmers attended the orientation program.

10. Tree Plantation:

The young boys of Solan Samithi did tree plantation in the village Kothon in the month of June, 2008. 108 saplings were planted. The due care for their further growth is being taken by the villager as well as the youth of the Solan Samithi.

11. Medical Services:

60 medical camps were organized during the period under report. It covered the areas from tribal region to the other backward areas of the state. The villages like Basal, Deothi, Kelar, Neri Kalan, Jhandutta, Ghumarvi, Shahpur, Bada Bengal, Chhota Bengal etcetera. It included the General Medical Chewck up, Medical Camps in general, Eye Camps and the Veterinary Camps. Several thousands people truly in need of medical help were benefited by it. Free medicines, free operations and food were distributed to all. They all use to depart by singing the glory of Bhagavan Baba, and taking with the Vibhuti and photograph of Bhagavan Baba, to keep it on in their head and heart.

12. Youth Conventions:

Youth conventions were held at Hamirpur, Dharamshala, Jhandutta in months of February, April and May for two days duration. It meant to inspire the youth to follow ideals laid down by Bhagavan Baba and to take that message to the public in general through action and activity.

13. Study Circle:

In the month of December, January and February special Study Circle classes were organized for the youth on the Divine Discourses delivered by Bhagavan Baba during the Summer Course on Indian Culture and Spirituality. It was the men of eminence and the one who had attended these Summer Courses, delivered lectures to the young budding generation.

14. Bhajan Training Programs:

Special Bhajan Training Programs were held for the youth who were having the Winter Vacations in their respective places. It was liked by the students and highly appreciated by the parents for proper use of vacations and learning the new ability of understanding the things in proper perspective. Every meeting ended with the prayer, "May Bhagavan Baba blesses all to tread the righteous path all the time"!

15. Visit to Anathalayas:

How can we state any one anath, when God Himself is the source and sustenance of whole creation. But it is a question of terminology. The youth both ladies and gents have been visiting the Deaf and dumb, Blind homes, Destitute homes and Leper Homes etc. both in Shimla, Solan and Nahan. They have been serving them with food and also making them aware of the new games, teaching them Bhajan and above all giving them the parental love.

16. Eswaramma Day Celebrations:

6th May was celebrated throughout the state in reverence to mother Eswaramma, the Divine mother. It was week long celebrations. The different activities were undertaken by the children in their respective places. In Shimla, it culminated on 11th.May, 2008. The children of Shimla BAL Vikas presented a Cultural Program on the stories and legends narrated by Bhagavan Baba from time to time. The function was provided by Honorable Governor of Himachal Pradesh. His Excellency commented that He has been to several Educational Institution, but he has never witnessed such a talented and thematic cultural program, that, too, presented by small children.
