State level youth meeting for (V.I.P) & Prem Jyothi Exhibition

On 6th Jan 2008, Sunday a State level Youth meeting with knowledge sharing session to review the progress of Village Integrated programme was held at Baroda. Here 33 Sai Youth sisters participated and Mahila Youth co-coordinators of each district gave a presentation on the Gram Seva activities carried by them along with senior ladies of their organisation in their respective villages. Our youth sister who is working in NGO gave a presentation on various activities carried by their NGO…so that others can get ideas and the knowledge on various government schemes. Lastly the State Mahila- youth coordinator summarized all Sai Youth sisters activity and presented additional practical ideas for Sai Youth sisters which can be started in V.I.P, she further talked on importance of Nari Shakti in Bhagwan's mission and the discipline to be maintained by Sai Youth sisters in their Gram Seva visit as per the guidelines laid by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization.

Mahila Youth
A special presentation was given by State Ex-Balvikas student's co-coordinator which reminded us VIP -Gram Seva as per Swami's guidelines and stressed on the concept of 'FAMILY'. Moreover our State President encouraged more and more youth to come forward and participate in S.S.S.V.I.P activities and appreciated the confidence of Youth co-coordinators who gave presentations. Later all Sai Youth sisters went to see "Prem Jyoti Exhibition" an exhibition of Swami's love in action.
Balvikas at Nikoli Village
  • In Nikoli Village Balvikas is recently started by Sai Youth sisters. A lady from this village has also volunteered to take up 'follow up' classes every week. At present there are approx 20 children.

Medical & Cattle Camp at Nikoli Village
  • On 20th Jan, Sai Youth sisters volunteered in the cattle camp held at 'Nikoli'. Over 80 cattle's were treated. On this day Medical Centre had successfully completed 6 years of love in action. Moreover, it has given free treatment to 9000 patients till now. On the 20th Jan, 24th Feb and 16th March, 12th April, 18th May, and 8th June, Medical Camps were arranged at the adopted village- Nikoli where the Sai Youth sisters rendered services. On 19th of May, ladies day the Sai Youth volunteered in cleaning the Sri Sathya Sai Medical Centre and the main Bhajan Centre.
Bhajan Training, Vedgosh & Nagarsankirtan
  • Sai Bhajan Bina Sukh Shanti Nahi…as the Bharuch Samithi new Sai Youth sisters' activities have taken a pace with swami's grace. The Sai Youth sisters also contribute their time in learning Bhajans and Vedas from CD. On 22nd Jan, 25th Feb, 3rd March, 28th April, 27th May and 9th June was allotted for Bhajan training youth. They also participate in Youth bhajans. The youth also participated in Nagarsankirtan held on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th of April, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22th and 29th May and 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th of June. 6th May Eashwaramma Day, 10 Sai Youth sisters participated in Nagar Sankirtan & in Ashtottar Sahastra Namavali, held at the Bharuch Centre.
Narayan Seva
  • Sai Youth sisters proved to be the helping hands in the Narayan seva held at the 'Remand Home' on 19th Jan, 2nd Feb, 19th Feb, 11th March, and 30th March 13th April, 11th May, and 25th May. Sai Youth sisters along with senior ladies prepare food and distribute to the children of Rimand Home.
Tailoring and Mehendi Classes
  • Sai Youth sisters are volunteering services in running the tailoring classes in the Bharuch Samithi center. The participants are coming from lower middleclass families and some belong to poor families. These ladies are less educated and thus by learning this art they can start being self reliant and can be helpful to their families while working in their home premises. Recently, a lady who had completed this course and who was so much influenced by the activities conducted by the Samithi, that with great zeal, she has volunteered to help in these classes.

  • Mehendi designs a very old traditional art which is in maximum demand during marriage and cultural festivals. They have also started Basic beauty parlor course. Total beneficiaries from these 3 activities are 27. The Sai Youth sisters along with the support of senior ladies of the organisations conduct these classes very enthusiastically.

Role of Nari Shakti in Bhagwan's Mission- Meeting of Bharuch Sai Youth sisters
  • On 6th April, Sai Youth sisters of Bharuch district get together at IMA hall to share their views. The youth took an active part in the arrangement and the successful completion of the programme. This programme was conducted by State Mahila Youth Co-coordinator Ms. Anubhuti Tandon with the support of Bharuch District Mahila Youth convener Ms. Anindya Dey. It started with Bhajans and introduction session of all old and new Sai Youth sisters who have joined Sri Sathya Sai Seva organisation. A youth sister then gave a brief presentation of the spiritual, educational and service activities where Sai Youth sisters are participating. She shared the future plans and problems faced by the Sai Youth sisters. Like a small sapling, they have started their journey…and have strong faith in MOTHER SAI that they would definitely grow up to a 'healthy Tree' spreading services in branches to every nook and corner. Dedicating themselves whole heartedly at HIS 'Lotus Feet'. A team building management game based on swami's teaching known as " Tower building "was being played amongst the Sai Youth sisters. There are 3 participants who have to play a role of youth coordinator, active youth worker and district president while playing this game and achieve their targets for tower building. Thus this game helped in understanding the meaning of teamwork, love, egoless Seva, faith, performance, leadership, taking initiatives, behaviour and our expectations in Sri Sathya Sai Seva organisation. The programme ended by listening to beautiful experiences of Dr. Geeta Mohan Ram and later a discussion was made in order to bring solutions to the problems faced by Sai Youth sisters and the Seva ideas. In the end our respected State President also came and suggested his views for further improvement in the quality of Seva activities carried by the Sai Youth sisters. His motivational words inspired all.

  • On the 22nd of April, this camp was organized at the hostel and the youth took an active part in the entire arrangement and rendered their services. On 29th of April, there was a free heart check up camp organized at the Satsang Bhavan Hall. A team, of Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital Rajkot had come, around 210 patients were treated. It had been an excellent gathering and people were really impressed by the quality of service they got from the organization. 23 Sai Youth sisters participated in this programme.


Ahmedabad District

  • In order to start with Balvikas activity the Sai youth sisters and senior ladies visit houses to houses in the village to inform children and their parents to send their kids in the school premises to attend Balvikas class. After some months as soon as our Car entered the village, kids were running to us with their books and welcomed us with love and smile. We all realized this as Bhagwan's grace and the magic of Balvikas. On 13th Jan 2008, 40 children attended Balvikas class. The school authority and villagers invited us in their Annual school function which was to be held on 26th Jan 2008.

Medical Camp in adopted village - Charal
  • On 13th Jan 2008, Medical camp was held in the Village a lady Dr. examined the patients and prescribed medicines. 58 appx. patients were benefited.
  • On 10th Feb 2008, 90 children were given vitamin A drops between the age group of 6 months to 6 years. 20 patients received medicines. Treatment was given to ladies suffering from Knee Pain. Chlorine tablets were distributed by Sai Youth sisters in houses.

Mother and Child Care Programme
  • On 3rd Feb, 2008 group of Sai youth sisters with the help of gram sevak- Gayatri and traditional midwife-Ratanben of this village form a group of pregnant woman and asked them that they would like to do study circle with them and share information related to Mother and childcare required at the time of pregnancy. In some time 13 pregnant women and some other ladies came to school premises. Programme started with introduction session of Mother Sai and SSSSO. They shared swami's thoughts of "Love All Serve All" and "Manav Seva is Madhav Seva". The talk continued on the intake of nutritional food and health immunisation which is required for Mother and expected child. Mothers having 3 children explained about family planning operation. They also explained that one should have the delivery done in government hospitals. Education on general health and hygiene was imparted to other ladies of the village. The programme ended with "Loka samastha Sukhino Bhavantu", Vibhuti prasadam and with a promise that next Sunday also there will be a similar session with a lady doctor so all should come and take the benefit of the same.

  • As promised on 10th Feb, 2008 the group of Sai youth sisters and senior ladies came with a lady doctor. Programme started with Omkar and learning of Gayatri mantra & Singing Bhajans. Information on nutritional and cheap food list was given. Satvic food was defined. Iron folic acid capsules were given to these ladies and the lady doctor checked their B.P and imparted knowledge on how to take a good Natal care.

Republic Day Celebration at Charal Village 26th Jan 2008
  • On 26th Jan 2008, Republic Day was celebrated as Village School Annual day function. The school and Village people invited us in this programme. 25 people youth and senior devotees of the organisation visited and encouraged the enthusiasm of children. There was a cultural programme by the school boys and girls. Sai Youth sisters also participated in their programme and sang Patriotic songs.

Balvikas & Youth Sports Day Celebration - 17th Feb, 2008
  • Life is a game play it, Sai is our hero, the greatest puzzle - Who am I, Life the greatest adventure these words surrounded the play ground. Sports Day celebration was conducted by Sai Youth. Sai Youth sisters made rangoli; decorated stage with sports theme and managed the gifts, game list for different Balvikas groups. Programme started with pledge and Tri color March-past, followed with other games. After children, Sai Youth sisters and Balvikas gurus also played games with love and enthusiasm. In the end it was certificate distribution where Sai youth sister announced names and the specially designed Sarva dharma emblem certificates were given away to winners. The afternoon ended with Sai Prasadam and gifts for all the participants.

Anti- Gutka C.D Show at Charal Village - 23rd Feb, 2008
  • During survey and general observation it was found that in this village there were many people who were consuming 5-15 packets of Gutka daily. Even the mothers and young children were addicted to eat tobacco. So the team of Sai youth with elders decided to impart some knowledge on Anti Gutka through a C.D show. They managed to get this C.D from Ahmedabad city Cancer Hospital in regional Gujarati language. The group went at night and sang bhajans in the village and collected people from one place to another. After some time Japanese circus cassettes were shown. Later a movie on Anti Gutka was arranged on big screen through projector. Villagers and children were explained about the diseases which can happen due to Gutka eating in long run.

Eashwaramma Day Celebration
  • From 1st May to 6th May Eshwaramma Week was celebrated. Glory of Sai was celebrated amongst the Balvikas Students. Week started with Balvikas Bhajans + Veda Chanting, Shram dan, Drawing Competition, Quiz Competition on Ramayana & Bhagwan's Life and on 6th May there was Narayan Seva of Blind People. 90 children participated in this programme. Sai Youth sisters helped in organizing the programme.
Prem Jyothi Exhibition
  • On 3rd to 13th of Jan 2008, the Prem Jyothi Exhibition was held. Around 20 Sai Youth sisters along with senior devotees participated with dedication and enthusiasm. Each day had a unique decoration which was done by senior ladies and Sai Youth sisters. They were also placed at different point to explain the public. During the venture 34, 876 people were benefited and came to know about Bhagwan and Bhagwan's mission through this exhibition.
Youth Motivation & Personality development camp
  • In order to create awareness about our Mother Sai and her messages amongst Youth, a Youth motivation and personality development camp was conducted on 29th Feb to 2nd March. Samithi Youth and senior devotees did the follow up for the youth members who wished to join the Sathya Sai Seva Organization. Most of the youth gave favorable responses to join the organization. The schedule of the camp was as follows.

    In this camp, around 22 girls participated and all the members were awarded a certificate of participation. Moreover a debate competition and the elocution competition were held for the participation of youth motivation. Around 12 girls took part in both the events.

Maha Shivratri & Sai Gayatri Homayagna
  • The maha Shivratri Akhand Bhajans were held on the 6th of March wherein Sai Youth sisters were present to celebrate the function.
  • On the 22nd and 29th March, 2008 Sai Youth sisters performed the Sai Gayarti homayagna along with the senior devotees of the organisation.
Bhavnagar District
Mega Heart Camp
  • Mega heart checkup camp & inauguration of mobile medical van was arranged on 24th Feb. Sai youth ladies had contacted all schools, colleges and other places of Bhavnagar city for the mega heart camp. Youth ladies had given the best possible services to succeed the camp as like serving food, guiding the patients, helping the doctors and others services. 225 patients were treated and 19 patients received the date of operation. All patients were offered Sai prasadam.

  • On 12th April, Avatar darshan C.D show was organized in the village.100 villagers watched this programme. They received information about our beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the purpose of his advent. Followed with the glimpse of Sai organisation's service, educational and spiritual activities happening in Gujarat. On 15th April Sai Sisters had a talk with a group of children who were not regular in attending school and wandering elsewhere because of which their parents were worried. Sai Youth sisters tried to explain the importance of education and explained the basic human values to be followed.

  • 6th May Eashwaramma Day clothes were distributed amongst children in the Village. New Sarees were given to ladies. During home to home visit, Sai Youth sisters explained to villagers ladies that they should clean their house and surrounding so that their family stays fit and healthy.
Mahashivratri Celebration
  • On 6th march, a Maha Shivratri festival was graciously celebrated by Sai Youth : The day started with Nagarsankirtan and ended with special Shivratri Bhajans. Food packets were prepared by devotees at their home and those food packets were distributed to needy people.
  • Medical camp organized with mobile medical van in the adopted village. Approx. 65 patients were treated & given free medicines.
  • Special service as pathology laboratory technician was given by youth lady. Blood test was done. Most of the ladies were having diabetes; they were given medical advices and medicines.

Study Circle:
  • On 19th of every month a Mahila Study Circle is organized where Sai Youth sisters along with senior ladies of the organization take active Part in the discussion.
Old Age Home Visits
  • On 7th March, a special project taken by Sai youth sisters at old Age home were carried. The sisters cleaned their rooms, stitched clothes, cut nails and did personal & spiritual talks.
Blood Donation camp
  • On 4th May Blood donation camp was organized by Bhavnagar Samithi as a part of Eashwaramma celebration. 8 Sai Youth sisters donated blood and gave Seva.
Medical Camp
  • On 5th Jan '08 a general medical camp was organized at TAPIBAI VIKASGRUH (Orphanage of Ladies) 71 patients (ladies & children) have been treated. Sai Youth sisters helped in distributing free medicines with fruits. The mobile medical van launched for interior villages of Bhavnagar district is reaching to more and more needy patients Sai Youth sisters render their services in this activity on monthly basis.

  • On 8th may a medical camp was arranged by Bharuch Samithi at Vavdi village. 600 patients were treated in the different following category general, dental, ophthalmic, pediatric etc. laboratory test (blood, urine) electro cardiogram was also done. 100 packets of Sai protein powder prepared by Sai Youth sisters and senior ladies was distributed to children.

  • A mega medical camp organized by Samithi at a inside village "Paniyani" on 15th June. 900 patients have been given medicines and received treatment in general, dental, opthamilc, pediatri, cardiac, gynec, opthelmic etc areas. The patients were benefited by free services of ECG and laboratory test also. Spectacles were given to needy people. Sai Youth sisters along with senior ladies render their services in this camp.
