|Gram Seva - Medical Camp at SSSVIP Village Melakadi|
|On 21st April Sai Youth Brothers and sisters visited Melakadi Village. Bhajans were done and Video on Swami's life was shown to the villagers. On 12th May, 18th May and 19th May Sai Youth brothers and sisters visited Melakadi and Bhajans were done. They carried out Learn with fun activity for the village children. All the children were taken to the hill and various games and fun activities were carried out. Children could learn leadership, discipline and cooperation. |
|On 26th May 2013, Sai Youth Brothers and Sisters carried out Village Cleaning Campaign. They cleared plastic waste from surrounding areas of houses and shops. Initially villagers refrained from participating the activity but then onwards they started cleaning of the village on their own. Sai Youth did Bhajans in the village. |
On 16th June 2013 Sai Youth brothers and sisters arranged interaction with villagers on Health and Hygiene issues. They visited door to door and discussed about water purification and house hold hygiene in monsoon season and various following matters were addressed.
- Chlorination of water, filtrations and boiling of water
- use of mosquito repellent 'Sai net'
- Cleanliness around drinking water storage area in the home
|Sai Youth Brothers reconstructed drain-channels around water source in village school and repaired village hand pump and removed water spillage around them.|

On 19th Jun 2013, Sai Youth distributed note books to 53 students of primary school in the village.
On 23rd Jun 2013 Sai Youth visited door to door and interacted with the villagers on the importance of maintaining pure drinking water. They mixed chlorine tablets in the drinking water. They also provided extra chlorine tablets at one of the village shop for further use. They also sealed the open water tanks with the stone.
|Sai Youth helped villagers for creating employment opportunities. They planted "Khakhara trees" in the houses engaged in making of dishes and bowls from Kakhara tree leaves. Sai Youth brought the plants from the jungle hills and planted them at the doors of the villager for easy access. |
|On 30th June 2013 Sai Youth visited the Melakdi village and distributed note books to the village children and sprinkled DDT insecticide at various sites where impure water is collected. |
On 14th Jul 2013 With the purpose of economic upliftment of the villagers, vocational activities were planned. As a first step of the process of implementation of the activity, the data was collected according to the format. Villagers were found to have many additional vocational skills and were encouraged by the sevadal to start such additional activities.
On 26th Jul 2013, Narayan Seva was arranged for children of the village on the occasion of Gurupoornima. The food was prepared by a senior citizen couple themselves.
|On 16th August 2013 Repairing of old widow's home was under taken. The helpless old widow had to sleep outside her home in cold and rain due to destruction of her home by heavy rain. Sai youth along with district president and one devotee "civil engineer" visited the place with required material and repaired the home. The widow felt the grace of God and the sevadal thanked Swami for utilizing them as His instruments. |
|On 22nd August 2013, Narayan Seva for villagers on the occasion of 'Shraavan month' was arranged. The food was prepared by the senior citizen couple. |
|On 15th September 2013 a Narayan Seva was arranged on the occasion of birthday of a Sai devotee and "Ramapir"Bhajans were also arranged on the occasion of the local festival of the villagers. All villagers, especially the village children enthusiastically sang Ramapir's Bhajans. |
With the efforts of Samiti a grant of Rs. 10 lacs was obtained from the fund of the M.P. of Bhavnagar district. The work of Internal village road using RCC blocks and four solar street lights has been completed. The work of cremation place and check dam is under process.
An additional amount of Rs. 2500 per house has been sanctioned for the purpose of construction of toilets, which is under planning phase.
Transformation observed in volunteers and villagers :
|Villagers realized that they can improve their village environment by use of simple, cheap and easily available materials without outside help, just with their thoughtfulness and willingness. |
All Villagers - including children and elders - participated enthusiastically in social service activities after initial hesitation.
There was important integration between volunteers and villagers for performing social service activities together.
Every time, Volunteers got Swami's Prem Prasadam in the form of seasonal fruit - Blueberrys - given by village children with lots of love and respect.
